President & CEO's Message


At GMBHA, we believe that when we act collectively, we're most effective in mobilizing our combined resources to promote our members' interests and effect change. Our goal is to improve the overall quality of the "Miami experience" for all. We educate our members to understand and work with their governmental leaders as a group. Our educational institutions provide us with internship programs, information about global conferences that focus on sustainable institutions, and industry trends. Through a concerted approach, we enhance our members' abilities to optimize their customers' experience, and as a result, we improve the overall quality of our destination - Miami!

Chairman's Message

David Healy, GMBHA Chair

Join us in welcoming our 2016-2017 Chair of the Board David Healy, Vice-President & General Manager, Shula's Hotel & Golf Club.

I joined Graham Companies in 2003, having previously worked at Turnberry Isle Resort for ten years. At Graham, I took on the job of Controller but, more recently functioned as head of the Rooms Division, Information Technology and Purchasing, before assuming over-all responsibility for the Company's Hospitality Operations in 2010. I am a proud graduate of Nova Southeastern University and hold an MBA from Florida International University.

Miami is a great place to live, work and visit and I am committed to doing whatever I can to keep our industry strong and our destination attractive to both domestic and international visitors. We have many exciting developments and opportunities taking place in our destination. Visitors continue to increase and new hotels are opening and in the pipeline.

The GMBHA has an impressive Board of Directors and Membership who are equally committed to steering us forward. Our voice is important, not only at the legislative level, but with community involvement and support for our local educational facilities which generate our future leaders. Our hotel communities’ commitment to serve their guests extends to our hospitality students in public schools, private and public universities and colleges. Our students are our future hospitality leaders and it is up to us to give them all the opportunities they deserve.
