(MIAMI- October 1, 2019) - Miami International Airport “went pink” today in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. With the flip of a switch, MIA Director and CEO Lester Sola, joined by Miami-Dade County Commission Vice Chairwoman Rebeca Sosa, kicked off the airport’s awareness campaign, which includes MIA’s Central Boulevard welcome sign, flight information monitors, ticket counter screens and terminal columns colored in pink the entire month. Last year, MIA raised more than $32,500 for the fight against breast cancer, which earned it a National Pacesetter Award from the American Cancer Society.
Passengers can support the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign at MIA by making a donation in any of the collection boxes at participating MIA shops and restaurants.
