U.S. President & Senate

Floridians overwhelmingly voted for former President Donald Trump to be the 47th President of the United States, earning him the state’s 30 electoral college votes. Trump received 56.11% of the vote compared to Vice President Kamala Harris at 42.97%. For the U.S. Senate, incumbent Republican Senator Rick Scott defeated Democratic candidate and former U.S. Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell by nearly 13%.

Florida Senate

Congratulations to the incoming Senate President, Ben Albritton. Following last night’s results, the Florida Senate maintained their Republican supermajority. The Florida Senate, consisting of 40 seats, includes 28 Republicans and 12 Democrats – identical to last cycle’s results. Only odd-numbered Senate districts were up for election in 2024. Newly elected Republican Senators include Randy Fine, Don Gaetz, Tom Leek, Keith Truenow, and Stan McClain.

Florida House of Representatives

Congratulations to the incoming Speaker of the House, Daniel Perez. Following last night’s results, the Florida House maintained their Republican supermajority.  The House, consisting of 120 seats, now tentatively includes 86 Republicans and 34 Democrats, as House Republicans flipped two Democrat-held seats, HD 35 (Erika Booth defeated incumbent Rep. Tom Keen) and HD 93 (Anne Gerwig defeated incumbent Rep. Katherine Waldron). At the moment, HD 93 is subject to a recount per Florida law. House Democrats flipped Republican-held HD 45 (Leonard Spencer defeated recently indicted incumbent Rep. Carolina Amesty). In Miami-Dade, Rep. Vicki Lopez and Rep. Fabian Basabe won reelection. Republican Omar Blanco was elected in HD 115.

Miami-Dade County

President Donald Trump won by 11 points, earning 55% of the vote compared to 44% for Vice President Harris. This is the first time since 1988 that a Republican candidate for president wins the vote in the county. County Commissioner Raquel Regalado won reelection to the county commission for D7. Republican candidates sweeped all the countywide constitutional offices:

Sheriff – Rosie Cordero-Stutz

Clerk – Juan Fernandez-Barquin

Supervisor of Elections – Alina Garcia

Property Appraiser – Tomas Regalado

Tax Collector – Dariel Fernandez

Florida Constitutional Amendments

Amendments 3 and 4 were the subject of nationwide interest but ultimately failed to secure 60% of the vote needed to pass. Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis campaigned heavily against Amendments 3 and 4.

FAILED Amendment 3 – Adult Personal Use of Marijuana

FAILED Amendment 4 – Amendment to Limit Government Interference with Abortion
