As we continue our positive approach to working together with our hoteliers, members and partners, we realize how very fortunate we are to be in greater Miami and the beaches.
We are no longer looking back only forward. To imagine that there was a time during the pandemic when just a handful of our hotels were open, and so many of our employees out of work. However, here we are now with occupancies and rates better than 2019… it has been somewhat of a rollercoaster.
This situation has affected more than just the hospitality and tourism industry. For those of us who have kids in public or private schools, they have been closed longer than our hotels and restaurants. Many of our employees had the opportunity to spend more time with their kids, and thankfully were able to take advantage of the benefits they received. Wages have been increased to be more competitive and flexibility has been given to a lot of our employees to help with the new normal.
We must continue our positive approach to navigate our challenges and opportunities. We have a responsibility to our guests, visitors and employees to continue with all safety protocols and only look forward…. We are very lucky to live and work in greater Miami and the beaches.
